Mode Square Coffee Table
The Mode Square Coffee Table is inspired by 1950’s Brutalist architecture, a style featuring simple modular elements and found in many iconic institutional buildings like libraries, schools, and city halls.
In this large square coffee table design, we placed a smooth slab of solid hardwood on top of textured blocks of blackened fir to create the perfect contrast. The surfaces of the blocks are charred with the ancient Japanese Shou Sugi Ban technique, producing their beautiful charcoal-black finish.
Mode Square Coffee Tables are made to order in our Vancouver, Canada, workshop from sustainably-sourced North American woods.
Shown in whitewashed ash and blackened fir.
